We will be performing an upgrade over the coming weekend and transferring you to our new Email platform, so please read on…

So what’s happening?
We are moving away from our much loved Exchange 2007 based email servers, to our fresh new Exchange 2010 platform which gives us more capacity and more resiliency.

So will I notice anything?
In short, you shouldn’t notice anything, the migration process is designed to be non-disruptive and we have already performed a test run which has been successful. If you are using your mailbox whilst we migrate you may get a message on the screen saying your Administrator has made changes that require you to quit and restart Outlook. If you are not using it, then you will notice nothing.

There is the possibility you may experience temporary periods where you get a certificate error, or temporarily cannot access your email from your mobile device, but if you wait 10 minutes and try again it should resolve itself.

When is it happening?
The migration will begin this evening Friday 13th April from 9PM and occur in phases over the evening and weekend periods where we have detected your email usage is at its minimum. All migrations will be complete ready for Monday 16th April 8AM

If my email isn’t working?
If you are having issues and haven’t managed to reconnect after the migration, you can open a ticket on our helpdesk by emailing from another account, or visiting http://helpdesk.sherr.co.uk and raising a ticket there, we can then investigate your issue more quickly.
